The station has an advancing wheel (1) or endless loop-shaped conveyer device on which elements are cyclically moved. The elements are provided during continuous movement. A set of positions (4) for the elements are provided on the advancing wheel or a continuous loop of a conveyer system. Incrementation from the set of positions per clock comprises another set of positions, where the former set of positions for the elements is not divisible by the latter set of positions and is greater than two. The former set of positions of the elements on the wheel or the loop is a prime number. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a machining station.
