The system has a door module in the fixed object with a motion sensor for monitoring a limited region around the fixed object and a first transmitter which outputs an unmodulated signal if a moving object is detected. The key module has a superimposition receiver which receives the signal and a second transmitter which sends a second modulated signal if the receiver has detected the first signal. The door module has a second superimposition receiver that receives the second signal and an evaluation device for evaluating the second signal and triggering an action at the fixed object if the evaluation yields a suitable identification of the moving object. An Independent claim is also included for a method of transferring data between a moving and a fixed object.
