PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording device capable of automatically making a discharge tray in an opened state when a recording medium is conveyed without requiring a solenoid, etc., for opening the discharge tray, and capable of preventing the discharge tray from being carelessly opened when it is not during recording operation. SOLUTION: The recording device comprises a delay mechanism composed of a plurality of ring members 71, 72, 73, 75, 76 capable of delay rotation in synchronization with a discharge roller 40 and a control mechanism composed of a plurality of link members 81, 84, 86, 87 and a plurality of elastic members 83, 85, 88. The delay mechanism is provided with a plurality of cam parts 753, 762 capable of rotating together with the plurality of ring members and a phase control means for controlling phases of the plurality of cam parts. One link member 86 of the control mechanism is connected to the discharge tray 44.
