<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift stage changeover device for a vehicle transmission, not producing abnormal noise from a gear caused by synchronization failure occurring in association with gear shift. <P>SOLUTION: This shift stage changeover device for a sub transmission 46 provided with a synchromesh clutch 72 for shifting the sub transmission 46 and a shift actuator 86 driving the sleeve 76 of the synchromesh clutch 72 through a spiral spring 110, includes: an oil temperature sensor 121 detecting oil temperature T<SB>OIL</SB>of the sub transmission 46; and a shift actuator control means 128 delaying driving output timing by the shift actuator 86 in order to engage the synchromesh clutch 72 from a neutral condition if the oil temperature T<SB>OIL</SB>is within a temperature range causing synchronization failure when engaging the synchromesh clutch 72, that is, it exceeds an oil temperature determining value T<SB>OIL</SB>1 and does not exceed an oil temperature determining value T<SB>OIL</SB>2.
