The present invention relates to a method for producing an extract containing water-soluble conchiolin, whereby the extract containing water-soluble conchiolin can be obtained both easily and in high yield from shells through a process such as decalcification using acetic acid. The extract obtained according to the present invention can be safely employed in the human body, has outstanding anti-inflammatory activity, antioxidant activity and tyrosinase inhibiting activity, and can therefore be effectively employed as a a starting material for anti-inflammatory preparations, antioxidant preparations, skin-whitening preparations and the like.
