CORE-SHELL PARTICLE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CORE-SHELL PARTICLE

Disclosed are core-shell particles each having a dense shell.  A method for producing the core-shell particles in a short time is also disclosed. A liquid containing core particles composed of a material having a dielectric constant of not less than 10 and a metal oxide precursor is irradiated with a microwave, thereby forming a shell of the metal oxide on the surface of each core particle.  Consequently, there are obtained core-shell particles having a shell thickness of 1-500 nm, a maximum value of 0.01 cc/g for the volume of pores having a pore diameter of not more than 3 nm in the shell in the pore volume histogram obtained by nitrogen adsorption, and an average particle diameter of 1-1000 nm in a dispersion medium.
