摘要 Provided is a method for determining the physiological state of a microbial community whereby the physiological state of a microbial community present in a treatment tank of an apparatus for biologically treating drainage water can be quickly and accurately determined.  Also provided is a method for treating drainage water with the use of the above-described method.  A method for determining the physiological state of a microbial community comprising a step of dyeing a microbial community collected from a treatment tank of an apparatus for treating drainage water with a first fluorescent dye which binds to a nucleotide chain of the microorganisms and a second fluorescent dye which is decomposed with an enzyme in microbial cells and thus emits a fluorescence having a wavelength differing from that of the first fluorescent dye as described above, and a step of measuring, relating to the microbial community having been dyed as described above, the first fluorescence intensity (F1) originating from the first fluorescent dye as described above and the second fluorescence intensity (F2) originating from the second fluorescent dye as described above, wherein the preference level of the physiological state of the microbial community is determined based on the ratio (F1/F2) of the measured values.
