<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently producing an alkylated aromatic compound (e.g. cumene) by directly reacting an aromatic compound with a ketone and hydrogen, and to provide a method for producing phenol by using the cumene obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The alkylated aromatic compound is produced in extremely high ketone conversion and alkylated aromatic compound selectivity by reacting a raw material containing the aromatic compound, the ketone and the hydrogen in an insulated fixed bed reactor in which a catalyst is packed so as to form an upstream-side catalytic layer comprising specific components, and a downstream-side catalytic layer comprising specified components while regulating the temperatures of the upstream-side and downstream-side catalytic layers. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
