<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, when measuring a packet transmission rate over a communication network, a quantity of traffic may be generated on the communication network occasionally. <P>SOLUTION: A router 400 notifies the outside about a transmission rate of a packet. The router 400 includes: an occupant amount acquisition section 446 for acquiring an occupant transmission amount that is the amount of data transmitted per unit time in a communication interface 410 for transmitting the packet; a possible amount determination section 452 for determining a possible transmission amount that is an index value for the amount of data that can be further transmitted per unit time in the communication interface 410, in accordance with a line speed of the communication interface 410 and the occupant transmission amount; and a transmission section 460 for transmitting the determined possible transmission amount to the outside as a transmission rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
