<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image quality enhancing device or the like can enhance a texture of an image. <P>SOLUTION: The image quality enhancing device or the like includes acquisition means 101, 102 for acquiring an image quality enhancing objective image from an image source, an acquisition means 103 for acquiring a target image quality data indicating the propriety of enhancing the texture of the image from an input device, a separation means 101 for separating the image quality enhancing objective image into a texture component and a nontexture component, a detecting means 102 for detecting anyone out of two or more of texture types, which is determined based on a level of a value determined by a plurality of pixels including the pixel included in the image quality enhancing objective image, with respect to a threshold larger than zero, in each pixel included in the image quality enhancing objective image, a setting means 103 for setting a regulation factor for determining intensification, attenuation and maintenance of an amplitude of the texture component, in response to the target image quality data and the texture type, a generation means 104 for regulating the texture component according to the regulation factor and for generating a post-regulated texture component, and a generation means 105 for combining the post-regulated texture component with the nontexture component, to generate an output image. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
