<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picking assisting system and a picking assisting method capable of more effectively preventing error of picking work and more efficiently performing the picking work. <P>SOLUTION: The picking assisting system is provided with: a touch tag 120 stuck on a commodity shelf 500 in every commodity and storing a commodity code; an ID card 660 for storing a worker ID; a checking device 620 for determining correctness of the commodity; and a tag antenna 650 for performing human body communication with the touch tag 120 and the ID card 660. The checking device 620 checks the commodity code received from the touch tag 120 with the commodity code specified by a predetermined method as commodity discrimination information corresponding to the commodity, i.e., a picking object.
