PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately identify a destination intended by an occupant without need of complicated processing when the occupant does not operate an operating means and does not set the destination. SOLUTION: A vehicle navigation system 1 identifies an estimated route corresponding to a destination candidate based on a travel route history containing a route on which a vehicle traveled in the past, determines whether or not a current travel route corresponding to a current position of the vehicle coincides with the estimated route, determines whether a zone from the current position of the vehicle along the estimated route on which the current position of the vehicle is present to the destination candidate overlaps other estimated routes when the current travel route coincides with the estimated route, and selects the destination candidate. The destination candidate can be identified with the past travel route of the vehicle reflected, and the destination intended by the occupant can be accurately identified. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
