<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal wherein a space for housing a battery can be effectively utilized. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The mobile terminal includes: a housing part which houses a sub battery or a function module and is provided with a first connection terminal to be connected to the housed sub battery or function module; a detection means which outputs detection signals corresponding to the sub battery or the function module connected to the first connection terminal; and a control means which recognizes which of the sub battery and the function module is loaded on the basis of the detection signal inputted from the detection means and operates the loaded sub battery or function module. The first connection terminal is provided so as to be connected with the sub battery or the function module in a direction different from the connecting direction of a second connection terminal to which a main battery is connected and the main battery.
