PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door safety device in which smooth getting off is not obstacleed by the fact that door opening is prevented and reversion is repeated in arrival of a car even when a transporter cannot help standing near a door as in the case when a bed or a food service cart are transported. SOLUTION: The door safety device for the elevator is provided with an obstacle sensor for detecting the obstacle near a clearance of the door of the elevator and an exit/entrance frame or near a clearance between slide doors, and controls the door based on the output of the sensor in door opening. When it is detected that predetermined operation is performed regarding buttons in the car, an invalidation setting means for invalidating the obstacle sensor until at least door opening is completed at the next stopping floor is provided.
