<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust an Rth (retardation in the thickness direction) value of an unstretched norbornene-based addition polymer film and to develop Re (retardation in the plane) and Rth with various values by using only uniaxial stretching, that is, to simply and freely control the Re and Rth values of the norbornene-based addition polymer. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The norbornene-based polymer mixture having two or more maximum points in a molecular weight distribution curve obtained by gel permeation chromatography is used.
