<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when wireless areas of a plurality of base stations overlap a wireless area of one of mobile terminals, responses to the transmission from one of the mobile terminals are transmitted from the plurality of base stations, so that data transmission/reception is not normally performed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A wireless communication system includes a mobile terminal, a plurality of base stations, and a transmission path connecting the plurality of base stations. The plurality of base stations include a wireless equipment part for performing wireless communication with the mobile terminal, a part for generating a signal being transmitted, a part for detecting a signal being transmitted, and an output control unit for a signal being transmitted. When the output control unit for a signal being transmitted receives transmission from the mobile terminal, the part for detecting a signal being transmitted checks whether or not there is a signal being transmitted from another base station; when a signal being transmitted is not output from another base station, a signal being transmitted outputted by the part for generating a signal being transmitted is output via the transmission path.
