Preparing polymer electrolyte, comprises (a) producing 1-ethylmethylimidazoliumbromide by reacting 1-methylimidazole with ethyl bromide in cyclohexane; (b) discoloring the obtained 1-ethylmethylimidazoliumbromide compound by adding active carbon, boiling the solution mixture at 70-80[deg] C for 2-10 minutes and carrying out an ion exchange chromatography at the resulting discolored compound using a lithium salt; and (c) mixing a polymerizable material with the solution of the ionic liquid and carrying out in situ polymerization at the obtained mixture. Preparation of polymer electrolyte under the use of ionic liquids, comprises (a) producing 1-ethylmethylimidazoliumbromide through reacting 1-methylimidazole with ethyl bromide in cyclohexane under reflux over a period of 8-12 hours and subsequently crystallizing under the use of a mixture of ethyl acetate and isopropyl alcohol under rotation evaporation at 60-70[deg] C for 0.5 hours; (b) discoloring the obtained 1-ethylmethylimidazoliumbromide compound by adding active carbon and boiling the solution mixture at 70-80[deg] C for 2-10 minutes, and carrying out an ion exchange chromatography at the resulting discolored compound under the use of a lithium salt comprising lithium bis(trifluoromethylenesulfonyl)imide or lithiumbis(perfluoromethylenesulfonyl)imide in deionized water at 60-70[deg] C for 7-8 hours, removing the lower layer through washing with water, dehydrating under vacuum and filtering the obtained mixture through a well known procedure to obtain the desired hydrophobic ionic liquid; and (c) mixing a polymerizable material with the solution of the ionic liquid and carrying out in situ polymerization of the obtained mixture, optionally in the presence of one or more polymerization solvent forming additives.
