METHOD FOR REPAIRING AGE-DETERIORATED OPTICAL IMAGE RECORDING FILM

A method for repairing an age-deteriorated optical image recording film characterized by comprising pressurizing the deteriorated film under heating at a temperature of 80 °C to 196 °C for 0.1 to 10 seconds and then removing moisture from the deteriorated film, thereby repairing the same; and the method for repairing an age-deteriorated optical image recording film as described above characterized by comprising gradually cooling the film in the atmosphere or in an inert gas atmosphere after pressurizing and heating.  To repair optical image recording media such as 8-millimeter films and microfilms, searches have been made mainly on thermal data.  Thus, a repair method whereby base materials of age-deteriorated optical image recording films such as 8-millimeter films and microfilms can be more precisely repaired by extremely simple procedures is provided.
