PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control wall mounting structure which can effectively utilize a wall space, which can obtain a great vibration control function, and which can reduce the early damage and destruction of a connecting portion between at least either of downside and upside horizontal members and a pair of columns by avoiding extreme stress concentration on the connecting portion; and to provide a building equipped with the vibration control wall mounting structure. SOLUTION: This vibration control wall mounting structure 1 comprises: a pair of vertical columns 11 and 12; a lower beam 13; an upper beam 15 which forms the wall space 14 together with the pair of vertical columns 11 and 12 and the lower beam 13; a vibration control wall 18 which has a lower end 16 arranged in the wall space 14 and an upper end 17 capable of moving in a horizontal direction H in the in-plane section of the wall space 14 with respect to the lower end 16, and which generates a damping force against the movement of the upper end 17 in the in-plane section of the wall space 14 with respect to the lower end 16; and a connecting means 19 for connecting the lower end 16 of the vibration control wall 18 to the lower beam 13 and the upper end 17 of the vibration control wall 18 to the upper beam 15.
