<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the sprocket which can deter the degradation of the rubber of the cushion ring 4 and the generation of adhesion peeling effectively and maintain the stable noise reduction effect, in the sprocket 1 which integrates a sprocket main part 3 with a chain 10 engaging tooth 2 on the perimeter and the cushion ring 4 of rubber which is bonded to this sprocket main part 3 and eases the shock when engaging the chain 10. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The protection plate 5 for protecting the cushion ring 4 is installed integrally with the sprocket body 3 to the side of the cushion ring 4. Since the cushion ring 4 of rubber can be protected from the surrounding environment by providing the protection plate 5, the degradation of the rubber of the cushion ring 4 and the generation of adhesion peeling are suppressed effectively.
