<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer and a printing method, wherein the load on a storing section or an operation section is reduced when executing a plurality of printing instructions and interruption in the printing instructions is avoided without depending on a temperature control method for a fixing means. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a new job is inputted when a printing standby job exists, comparison of the new job and the job which is already standing by for printing is carried out. When a same type of job for execution exists using paper with matching paper size and paper type as the paper used for execution of the new job, changing of the order of execution is carried out so that printing of the new job and the printing of the same type of the job are continuously carried out. The new job is made to intercept so that the new job is executed next to the same type of the job with the earliest execution order when the order of the execution is changed.
