<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recovering oil from underground oil-polluted soil which can move oil on the surface of ground water present around a recovery well rapidly in the horizontal direction so as to make the oil easily flow into the recovery well and enable efficient recovery of oil. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method comprises forming a recovery well 2 for recovering oil from underground oil-polluted soil 5, pouring water from the surface 36 of the underground oil-polluted soil 5 present around the recovery well 2 and recovering the oil present around the recovery well 2 by applying a water pressure P to the upper surface of the underground oil, or the upper surface 41 of the oil layer 40, while pumping the liquid, or ground water and oil, present in the recovery well 2.
