<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit breaker for restricting over-turn of a movable contact to prevent a collision of the movable contact with a case. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This circuit breaker comprises: a pair of terminal parts corresponding to input and output; a fixed terminal plate 2 having a fixed contact point 2a and connected to one of the terminal parts; a movable contact 3 having a movable contact point 3a to be brought into contact with the fixed contact point 2a and to be separated therefrom; a lead wire 31 connecting the movable contact 3 to the other terminal part; a cross bar 33 to be turned with the movable contact 3, which is turnably fitted to the cross bar 33; an over-current shut-off means 5 for forcibly separating the contact points by turning the movable contact 3 when over-current flows between the contact points; and a case 1 housing them inside thereof. The lead wire 31 gives the force for turning the movable contact 3, which is being turned to a side for opening an electrode inside the cross bar 33, from the side for opening the electrode to a side for closing the electrode when the cross bar 33 is turned by the over-current shut-off means 5 and the movable contact point 3a is separated from the fixed contact point 2a.
