<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wiping device, which enables the thermal expansion of a wiping roller to be controlled as the wiping device employed in an intaglio printing machine and, at the same time, the quality of the obtained intaglio printing product to be improved and, in addition, the prolonged service life of the wiping roller to be achieved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This wiping device is equipped with the wiping roller, which is formed by winding rubber or resin around the top layer of a metal cylinder annexed to a shaft core and which has at least one hollow body for staying temperature regulating medium inside the metal cylinder inherent in the roller.
