WIDE-BAND WAVELENGTH-VARIABLE LASER DEVICE

A laser device is provided with an excitation light source, and a resonator wherein a laser medium is arranged between optical paths of a first mirror and a second mirror which reflect light of a desired wavelength band, and furthermore, a first wavelength selecting means is arranged between the laser medium and the optical path of the second mirror.  In the wavelength variable laser device, a laser oscillation wavelength can be continuously changed by using a fluoride glass wherein at least Pr3+ is added to the laser medium.
