The method involves determining (S102) the topology of a communication network of the navigation satellite system. The expected continuities of the communication elements of the communication network are determined (S104). The information concerning the communication network is transmitted (S12) as a status notification in one navigation message. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) navigation satellite system; and (2) method for processing status notification transmitted with navigation message in navigation satellite system.
