PURPOSE: A continuous hot-dip coating line and method for a hot-rolled steel strip are provided to regulate the surface roughness of a steel strip suitable for the hot dipping condition and improve plating quality. CONSTITUTION: A continuous hot-dip coating line and method for a hot-rolled steel strip comprises a scale removal and degrease device(110) and a hot-dip coating device(20). The scale removal and degrease device comprises a crack generator(111) causing a crack in scales of a hot-rolled steel strip, a shot blasting device(112) removing the scales by shot-blast of the cracked scales, a steel strip deforming device(113) weakening the bonding between the residue scale and the hot-rolled steel strip and deforming the hot-rolled steel strip to have surface roughness, and a polishing and degreasing device(114) grinding the hot-rolled steel strip to remove the remaining scales and degrease a cold rolled steel strip.
