The thickness of the sheets increases towards the edges to be welded. The edge contour has a minimum amplitude (A) with respect to the center line of the joint of 5mm. The wavelength (lambda ) of the edge pattern is given by the relationship A/lambda = 0.1 - 2.The weld bead (5) has a breadth of 2 - 10mm.
