PURPOSE: A fast response speed and a liquid crystal display for embodying a wide-viewing angle are provided to embody the wide-viewing angle and the high transmittance. CONSTITUTION: A first field-generating electrode(191) has a plurality of cut units. A thin film transistor is connected to the first field-generating electrode. A sub electrode(178) is overlapped with a plurality of cut-outs of the first field-generating electrode. A second field-generating electrode is opposite to the first field-generating electrode. A liquid crystal layer is between the first field-generating electrode and the second field-generating electrode. A protective film is formed on data line, a drain electrode and a semiconductor.
