<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for controlling power and to advance the current phase, by serially connecting between a power source and a load. <P>SOLUTION: A magnetic energy regenerative bidirectional current switch is constituted, to which a bridge circuit composed of four reverse conductive semiconductor switches and a capacitor connected to a DC terminal of the bridge circuit to accumulate magnetic energy during shutoff of the bridge are connected. The AC terminal of the bridge circuit is serially connected between the power source and the load, two pairs, positioned on a diagonal line of the semiconductor switches synchronized to the power source voltage, are turned on/off for each half cycle to advance the phase of the current forcibly, controlling the voltage of the load, by advancing a current power factor from the power source, and the on/off of the switches is controlled so that the power factor of the power source current will be one as the whole, wherein the current of a lagging power factor passing through another AC load connected in parallel to the AC power source that is not via the magnetic energy regenerative bidirectional current switch and the current of a leading power factor passing through the AC load, whose phase has been advanced by the magnetic energy regenerative bidirectional current switch are added. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
