PROCESS OF HIGH YIELD 1,5-DIMETHYLTETRALINE

PURPOSE: A process for preparing high yield 1,5-dimethyltetraline is provided to prepare 1,5-dimethyltetraline at a high conversion ratio and selectivity by suppressing high heat generation and high impurity generation. CONSTITUTION: A process for preparing high yield 1,5-dimethyltetraline comprises a step of cyclizing 5-ortho-tolyl-pentene in the presence of zeolite beta to prepare 1,5-dimethyltetraline; collecting some of unreacted ortho-xylene after alkenylation and injecting the residue with 5-ortho-tolyl-pentene in a cyclization process. The injection amount of ortho-xylene to cyclization process is 10-50 weight% of unreacted material after alkenyl reaction.
