PURPOSE: A cooling apparatus for steel sheets is provided to regulate the spray width according to the width of a steel sheet by the needle cylinder and the needle lift controller. CONSTITUTION: A cooling apparatus for steel sheets comprises a mist header(100), a nozzle, a fluid supply block(300), a needle cylinder(400), and a needle lift controller(500). The mist header comprises an air channel and a liquid channel. The nozzle with a liquid path and an air path is located under the mist header. The fluid supply block is coupled with the nozzle and arranged inside of the mist header. The needle cylinder selectively seals spray holes of the nozzle. The needle lift controller is connected to one side of the needle cylinder and regulates the elevation of a piston inside the needle cylinder.
