MDHPT1 GENE INVOLVED IN VITAMIN E BIOSYNTHESIS OF FUJI APPLE

PURPOSE: A Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Fuji-derived MdHPT1 gene relating to vitamin E(tocopherol) synthesis is provided to enhance the content of vitamin E in the fruit and improve the quality. CONSTITUTION: A Malus domestica Borkh. cv. Fuji-derived MdHPT1(Malus domestica homogentisate prenyltransferase 1) protein has an amino acid of sequence number 2. A gene encoding the protein has nucleic acid of sequence number 1. A recombinant vector comprises the MdHPT1 gene. A host cells transformed with the recombinant vector. The host cell is Cyanobacteria. A primer set for amplifying the MdHPT1 gene comprises oligonucleotide of sequence numbers 3 and 4.
