<p>The method involves evaluating multiple sensors (4) e.g. ultrasonic sensors, in front and rear detector arrangements in an evaluation electronics, to detect a distance between a vehicle (1) and an obstacle. The sensors of the front detection arrangement and/or associated evaluation functions in the evaluation electronics are deactivated, during rearward movement of the vehicle. The middle sensor and/or associated evaluation function is deactivated, when arrangement of the sensors in the front detection arrangement. An independent claim is also included for a device for implementing a method for controlling a parking assistance system for a vehicle.</p> |
