PURPOSE: A system for judging filter exchange time of an air cleaner using speed of a motor and a method thereof are provided to exchange the filter of the air cleanser in proper time, and to offer good efficiency of the air cleaner. CONSTITUTION: A system for judging filter exchange time of an air cleaner using speed of a motor includes the following steps of: counting the time after a rotation point of the motor after measuring the rotation speed of the motor(S110); judging the target speed of the motor(S120); comparing the predetermined time with the time for reaching to the target speed(S130); outputting an alarm signal or a message informing an exchange signal of the filter(S141); and determining the exchange time of the filter(S142).
