PURPOSE: A discharge lamp is provided to prevent the electrode body from being omitted from the body. CONSTITUTION: Electrode is arranged to face in the tube axis direction of the arc tube. Electrode comprises the electrode body and electrode shaft part. The electrode body(51) and electrode shaft part have the body portion of the cylindrical shape. In the tip-end part of the electrode shaft part(52), the male screw part(522) is formed. In the back-end of the electrode body, the female screw part is formed in the recess inner wall. The electrode body and electrode shaft part screw are connected. The metal member is inserted between the female screw part(512) of the electrode body and male screw part of the electrode shaft part. A part of the metal member is arranged as the crushed state.
