PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for communication using 3-dimensional image display are provided to perform various functions through the request from a user based on the distance to and operation of a user. CONSTITUTION: An operation information determination unit(110) determines operation information by using the motion image photographing the motion of a user who shows the request for the other party. The operation information determination unit determines at least one kind of information for the position and format of a certain operation in the motion information. A distance information determination unit(120) determines the distance information that shows the distance between a user and the three-dimensional image display device. A user request determination unit(130) determines the user request based on the distance information and the motion information.
