PRE-CHARGING METHOD USING POWER CONVERTER

PURPOSE: An initial charge method is provided to reduce a cost and improve reliability of a system by replacing an initial charge device with a power converter. CONSTITUTION: A voltage of the energy generation or storage unit is boosted or changed by a power converter. A DC link voltage between the power converter and a main switch(15) and the voltage of a high voltage battery(16) are measured. If the voltage difference between the DC link voltage and the high voltage battery is below a first set voltage, the main switch is turned on to charge the high voltage battery. The energy generation or storage unit is an auxiliary battery or driving motor. The power converter is a DC-DC converter or inverter.
