PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for generating synchronization channel in a broadband communication system are provided to improve the time synchronization performance of the cell boundary. CONSTITUTION: The sequence generator(800) generates the first sequence according to the cell ID and the second sequence. The modulator(802) modulates the first sequence and the second sequence. The subcarrier mapper(804) maps sequence from modulator in subcarriers. The transmitter(812) is proceed the RF (Radio Frequency) processing about the synchronization channel symbol and transmits a message.
