A DIGITAL BROADCASTING RECEIVER AND DIGITAL BROADCASTING RECEIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A digital broadcasting receiver and a digital broadcasting receiving method thereof are provided to process multi-carrier modulation multimedia signal as well as a single carrier modulation multimedia signal. CONSTITUTION: A tuner(410) receives a signal including plural pilots, and an A/D converter(420) converts a signal outputted from the tuner into a digital signal, and a mode detector(430) detects the characteristics of the signal by using the signal outputted from the A/D converter. The mode detector uses the plural pilots included in the signal outputted from the A/D converter. A multi-carrier demodulating unit and a single carrier demodulating unit selectively process the signal according to the detection results from the mode detector.
