PURPOSE: A digital multimedia signal receiver and a channel pre-searching method thereof are provided to process a multi-carrier modulation signal or single carrier modulation signal by generating a channel table. CONSTITUTION: A multi-carrier processing unit(350) processes a digital signal outputted from a switch, and a controller(380) searches a channel by controlling a tuner. The controller judges a modulation mode and a corresponding channel, and generates a switch control signal. Furthermore, the controller controls the switch in order for only the multi-carrier processing unit to be used in processing the multi-carrier modulation signal according to the modulation mode.
