PURPOSE: A solid-state imaging device and an electronic apparatus are provided to prevent the transmission of unnecessary electric charge to the horizontal transmission register unit. CONSTITUTION: Light receiving units(2) are arrange in two dimension in a matrix shape, and perform photoelectric transformation. A vertical transmission register unit(3) is arranged corresponding to the each row of the light receiving unit. A vertical overflow drain structure is arranged at the final stage of the vertical transmission register unit. The vertical overflow drain structure is separated from a semiconductor substrate electrically.
