Stabilised 3-dimensional textiles - containing synthetic fibres

Stabilised 3-D lengths of textile material are formed by mechanical treatment and are then wound so firmly that the surfaces of the separate layers are forced against the lower sides of the upper layers. They they are subjected to heat and intensive humidity until a permanent deformation of the fully synthetic fibrous material is achieved. Finally the length of textile material is unwound and dried. Textiles treated in this way are stabilised to resist chemical cleaning and retain their 3-D shape.
