A process for the preparation of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene involves heating 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butandiol, dehydratation thereof in the presence of catalyst, condensation of reaction products and separation of 2,3-dimethylbutadiene by stripping. 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-butandiol is heated to the melting temperature, the dehydratation is carried out at atmospheric pressure and 400-460 °C, at feeding speed of 35-60 g/h., and activated γ-AlOis used as catalyst. |
