Address crossbars (30) in a data processing system (10, 20, 30, 40, 50) are normally operated in a so-called dualization mode in which they perform the same operations simultaneously. Upon occurrence of an error in one of the crossbars, an operating mode is switched to a so-called singularization mode in which each crossbar acts independently. This enables continuing operation of the system by using a normally operable part when an error occurs in a part of the system.
|
