PURPOSE: A digital image processing apparatus is provided to enable a shutter to change light transmittance. CONSTITUTION: An image pickup device(132) converts energy of light, applied through a lens unit(120), into an electrical signal. A shutter(131) varies transmittance of the light applied through the lens unit. A light measurement sensor(137) is formed in one side of the shutter. The light measurement sensor measures the quantity of light from light reflected from the shutter. The shutter is a smart window. The shutter varies the light transmittance according to whether an electric field is applied or not.
