The appliance has a cooking chamber including a lid (2), an air inlet (20) and a cooking vapor and air outlet that is arranged above a level of an upper edge of a container (1). The outlet is connected to a suction device (40) associated to a filtering device (50). The suction device has a ventilation unit (41) arranged laterally with respect to the container. The ventilation unit has a suction zone that faces a filtering surface of a filtering element (51) of the filtering device. The element is removable with respect to the suction device.
