The device (41) has an actuator comprising an electric motor driving a brake locking device for locking a brake on wheels of a motor vehicle. The actuator comprises controlled mechanical blocking units preventing release of the brakes, where maneuvering of the actuator comprises a control lever (12) transmitting a driver setpoint by a control cable (16). The cable connected to the control lever performs controlling the blocking units in a mechanical manner. The mechanical blocking units are constituted of a disengaged free-wheel, clutch or claw.
