<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder which can shorten a recording time and suppress a consumption amount of ink to be small by minimizing the number of times of driving carried out at the time of the detection of the ejection state of a recording element in a recording head. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder is equipped with the recording head and an environment detecting means which detects conditions of an environment at the periphery of the recording head. When liquid droplets are ejected from the recording head, an ejection state detecting means detects the ejection state of the liquid droplets. At the time of detecting the ejection state of the liquid droplets ejected from an ejection opening by the ejection state detecting means, the number of times of driving to drive the recording element so as to detect the ejection state is adjusted according to the environment conditions detected by the environment detecting means.
