PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-cooled transformer meeting the demand that the operation time of an air-cooling fan for devices of various constitution is shortened, then, the life of the air-cooling fan is prolonged and noise and power consumption due to the operation of the air-cooling fan are suppressed. SOLUTION: The air-cooled transformer includes the air-cooling fan 2 for blowing cooling air to a transformer 1 and suppresses a rise in temperature of winding 3 of the transformer 1 to thereby suppress long-time lasting of a state wherein the rising temperature of the winding 3 exceeds a permissible rising temperature even in such a case. The air-cooled transformer calculates an estimated rising temperature of the winding 3 of the transformer 1 by integrating a value of current applied to the transformer 1 and controls the air-cooling fan 2 based upon the estimated rising temperature.
